Welcome to the first edition of The World Mission Report! This is a regular e-publication designed to bring you stories and updates about God's missional activity in the world—both near and far.
One unique aspect of The World Mission Report is that we're committing to include at least one article (in each edition) about the missional activity of a church in the Kansas City area. This fits with our goal of building awareness among KC-area pastors and church mission leaders regarding what other churches are doing in local and global mission.
We hope you'll consider The World Mission Report as a great tool for your own learning, and also a great resource to help you nurture a missional mindset in your own congregation. We'd love to see more and more churches working together in mission; awareness is a critical first step toward achieving that goal.
We'd love to have your input and feedback about this awareness-building publication. Of course, we'll need some of you to contribute stories, either by writing them or being interviewed by one of our team members.
Each edition will contain two or three articles, with at least one of those articles being focused on what a church in the KC area is doing, either locally or globally.
Each month will have a thematic focus, i.e. this edition is addressing Mission Partnerships. Once per quarter, we'll target a region of the world. Other issues will be themed around missional causes, ministries or movements.
We'll include some stuff that experts from around the world have written, and also some original material generated by our own team of writers. Who knows, maybe that’s you?
We'll always be ready to break from our existing plan to cover an unplanned topic, like the Joplin tornado response efforts.
If you have ideas for articles or themes, or if you would like to contribute an article or story, please contact us at:firstname.lastname@example.org.
Please feel free to forward these editions of The World Mission Report to your friends and colleagues via email.
You can also follow The World Mission Report on Twitter @getworldmission and on the Facebook page of The World Mission Report. While the regular e-publication is monthly, we'll be tweeting and posting on Facebook at various times throughout the month.
Let's build awareness about the amazing missional things God is doing in KC and around the world, including what He's doing through the Church of KC.
