Fair Trade & Faith Festival at Atonement Lutheran

Sat, April 28, 2012

Fair Trade & Faith Festival - A celebration honoring the work of women artisans and farmers around the globe.

Through fair trade, women artisans and farmers receive fair income for their work. This income translates into greater social standing within their families and community, providing dignity and respect for women. Your choice to buy fairly-traded products directly connects you to the lives of mothers, daughters, and grandmothers around the world and helps them provide for their families and communities.

Join us for a fun weekend of events:

Fair Trade at the CAFÉ: sample fairly traded coffees, hot chocolate, chocolates, olive oil, Women's Bean Project soups, Shatto milk (hopefully!) and mini-muffins baked with Fair Trade ingredients.

Fair Trade Market Place: Handicrafts from Ten Thousand Villages and SERRV; perfect time to shop for gifts for Mother's Day, graduations, weddings.

Take part in the Fair Trade Scavenger Hunt: Learn how you can have a FT home, office, school, and community, watch a Trade as One video clip, and sample the FT goodies. Complete them all and enter to win a drawing for a gift basket filled with Fair Trade items!

Learn how you can be involved in the Overland Park Fair Trade Town Campaign.
