Argentine Mennonite Church was founded in 1946. Its mission is to be a
strong, Christ-centered, Bible-based church with an Anabaptist witness. This
church is based in the Argentine District, which has one of the highest
child poverty rates in the country. However, to make a difference in
its community, Argentine Mennonite believes they must start with
making disciples for Jesus. They are doing this
by mentoring families and young adults in the neighborhood.
Church programs directed toward neighborhood kids include:
Sunday School every Sunday morning before worship, a biweekly
club where kids can spend an evening doing fun activities and learn a Bible
lesson, and a summer VBS which brings in 60-70 kids
from the neighborhood. Argentine Mennonite's prayer is that God
would bring them those people whose hearts He is stirring right now
to become the kind of disciples who will bring a beacon of hope
to the surrounding community.

I was born in Mumbai, India in a
devout Christian community that traces its Christian roots 2000 years, to the
time when the Apostle Thomas came to India in 52 AD. My own faith journey was a
progression from teenage doubt, to exploring the various religions of
India, to coming to the realization that God had uniquely revealed Himself in
My interest in Science and Technology lead me
to do my Electronics Engineering but I also had a creative streak which I was
able to explore by working in the advertising industry as a copywriter. God
then opened the door for me to combine my computer knowledge and creative
skills to co-found an Internet company delivering online learning
courses in 1999. In year 2000 my family relocated to Pittsburgh,
PA while I was still in charge of operations at my company in Mumbai, so
that my wife Sufi could pursue Post Doctoral research at the University of
Our first few years in the US, however,
were filled with challenges. This was a time when God really turned our life
upside down. However through Christ’s love shown to us through
incredible Christians, Christ become more real to us than he had ever been.
At this time I heard God calling me into full-time ministry. In
2002, I walked away from my Internet company and started volunteering at
my church in every capacity available. In the following years I
completed my MDiv from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and worked as the
Associate Pastor of this church, the Asian Indian Church of Pittsburgh, for two
years. There I developed a burden for Indian students and shared the
Gospel with them at two Pittsburgh Universities. In June 2013
God called us to Kansas City where I continued to work as a local
missionary to Indian students as campus staff with International Students
Inc. In the summer of 2014, I was called to additionally take up the role of
Interim Pastor at the Argentine Mennonite Church.
I encountered Mennonites for the first time in
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was drawn by their witness, and was ordained at the
Pittsburgh Mennonite Church in 2013. My bride Sufi is a scientist in
the field of Head and Neck Cancer and working at KUMC. We are
blessed with two beautiful children, Ahia (16) and Andrew (8).
